Hoffmeister Again Leads Maroons to Win
RC Beats Sewanee, 3-0, Will Play Oglethorpe on Sunday

SEWANEE, TN--The Roanoke women’s soccer team improved to 2-1 on the season with a 3-0 win over the University of the South (Sewanee) on Saturday afternoon in Sewanee, TN. The Maroons rode two goals from freshman Jill Hoffmeister (Norfolk, MA/The Rivers School) and one from sophomore Emily Letzkus (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) to pick up the victory. Hoffmeister, who now has five goals on the season, scored Roanoke’s first goal of the game in the 32nd minute and then added her second tally in the 77th minute. In between those two scores, Letzkus scored her first of the year on an assist from Shelley Olds (Groton, MA/Groton-Dunstable).
Roanoke outshot Sewanee, 20-8, in the contest, and RC keeper Christine Torzewski (Iselin, NJ/JFK Memorial) was forced to make just four saves.
The Maroons will square off with Oglethorpe University at 10:00am in Sewanee.
